HEIDENFEST 2010
29.09.2010
Ljubljana Cvetličarna Mediapark

TWILIGHT OF THE GODS (the allstar sensation performing BATHORY masterpieces)

These days a sensational all-star-project titled TWILIGHT OF THE GODS reinforces the thesis that true gods will never die. Five prominent heroes of the Northern metal-scene have joined together to pay endless tribute to the dignified Swedish cult-combo Bathory. Alan Nemtheanga (Primordial), Nick Barker (Dimmu Borgir, Cradle Of Filth), Blasphemer (Mayhem),Frode Glesnes (Einherjer) and Patrik Lindgren (Thyrfing) open up the books of history to continue in honor the fabulous legacy of master Quorthon 6 years after his tragic decease. Deeply connected with the heathen spirit of Bathory, this artist-fusion interprets the immortal hymns of the Swedish kings in a new, but also traditional way. With this audacious project, Alan Nemtheanga and his followers demonstrate, that the “Hammerheart” is still pounding restlessly in the chest of the pagan scene. You should also pay respect to the godfathers of Viking Metal and not miss this very special history-lesson!

ENSIFERUM

Edged, ice-cold blades cut into your goose pimples, when the flagship of Finnish heathen metal starts its acoustic-attack. After path-breaking releases like “Iron”, “Dragonheads (EP)” or “Victory Songs”, ENSIFERUM climbed the unlimited hegemony in pagan metal, keeping this as solid as walls. On their current battle-album “From Afar” the swordfighters also come up to their status of being full-blooded pagans and impress untold warrior-hearts around the globe.  ENSIFERUM still score with emotional and aggressive sounds, which are besides influenced by the typical Finnish lunacy. This crazy horde will surprise you again with their new treasures at HEIDENFEST!

EQUILIBRIUM

With their both masterpieces „Turis Fratyr“ and „Sagas“ the heathen youngsters of EQUILIBRIUM reached to usurp the crown of German pagan metal easily. Their recipe for success is unmistakable, because female leader and bassist Sandra Völkl and her bards captivate by musical, qualitative variety: Powerful metal with a strong sense for melodies shines within a playful framework of folk, epic, bombast and emotion. EQUILIBRIUM fight intensively to reach their aim: The total domination of heathen metal. Now the German warriors start another foray to conquer new, unknown territory to position neo-paganism.

SWASHBUCKLE

Take cover! Cruel pirates will support the pagan warriors on their march through Europe to reach the world domination. The cannons are already loaded and the barrels of rum are filled to the top. “Splash’n’Trash” is the consistent motto of these US-buccaneers, which they will truly live out at HEIDENFEST. Admiral Nobeard has prepared his crew for an excessive overkill. The stages of the European clubs are ready to get boarded by the crazy pirates of SWASHBUCKLE.

HEIDEVOLK

The brave men of HEIDEVOLK carry the power of nature in their hearts. Caught by the mysticism of past epochs , the pagan-sextet hailing from the Netherlands is going to unleash a great Ragnarök at HEIDENFEST. Always attended by healing thoughts of Valhalla, these audacious swordsmen take part in every war to demonstrate the might of heathen believe to all their faithless enemies. Armed with axes, swords and drinking horns, HEIDEVOLK range in the battle-line for the upcoming HEIDENFEST-campaign.

+ SPECIAL GUESTS

EISREGEN

Abhorred on the one hand, idolized on the other hand! There hardly exists another German band, which had to cope with the Index as often as the Thuringian dark metallers of EISREGEN. Provocative and offensive all along the line, the band does not mind attempts of intimidation from any upholders of moral standards and breaks through the walls of good taste with a very nasty smile. Their bloodworks are full of cynical art, which scares you to death and the morbid, humorously touched sense of their lyrics makes you high like an overdose. At the HEIDENFEST Extended Shows, these crazy butchers care for true goose pimples

VARG

If you’re longing for gentle nature-atmosphere or nice and relaxed folk-sounds, you’re definitely wrong at the “Schildfront” of VARG. This dangerous horde of wolves hailing from Coburg, Germany has already initiated the battle of this millennium in Viking metal! “Blutaar” is the name of their current war-machine, which the band served to all pagan warriors via NoiseArt Records. After their phenomenal Paganfest-crusade through Europe, VARG will sharpen their axes for the conquest of the HEIDENFEST EXTENDED SHOWS!
