http://www.the-master.it/readarticle.php?article_id=17 and translate: Here we discover the scene of Balkan Black Metal must say that this promo with the Macabrum, Black Metal band coming from the East, send us all the atmosphere of black metal, suggestivissime at most, is the simple classic black metal, hard , melodic, and when you need that also involves non-fans of the genre. Despite being a promo of 2010 we find the sounds of old school black metal actually feel a lot of the influences of darkthrone, burzum and only recognize the melodic riff similar to the dissection, we speak of a mixture of influences that lead to an optimal outcome for our ears, the only thing that we find the modern in this promo are the parts of piano / keyboard, but which, however, mix well with the rest of the songs. To be a promo really deserves the last track there is a change in "closer to Dimmu Borgir but that does not leave for nothing to be desired. I hope I have satisfied your curiosity, if you are not sure heard and supported the Balkan scene!! ------------- Uz očajni ropac umirahu gresi, kupljeni životom: to mre vasiona. |

Review from metal-archives. Above me is the ground, but I am chained - 85% Written by extremesymphony on March 11th, 2011 This little EP is what would happen if ever there was to be a band with Andre Olbrich on guitars and Abbath on vocals. The music is very melodic and simple especially due to the heavy use of pianos. But did I say that it is bad thing? Not at all. This EP represents what best can be described as melodic black metal. The highlight is the high caliber composition and songwriting .The songs are highly simple yet they are tremendously effective. The pianos also add to the music and create an excellent atmosphere. The guitar work is simple yet quite good. The guitar melodies used mostly belong to power metal. The vocal work is standard black metal vocal work. The drum work is again quite good. The pianos are played well and they play their part efficiently. The production is amazing. The guitars are mixed superbly and so are the pianos. The pianos do not interfere with the actual heaviness of the songs. So moving on to the individual songs; 1. Corruption Of Flesh And Soul: We start with excellent catchy riffs. The song picks up pace rather quickly. The guitar melodies used are just wonderful. At the one minute mark we have a fine interlude. Around the #:35 mark the pace changes dramatically which very nicely done. 2. Cold Sight: This one starts with a good piano intro which takes us straight into heavy and rough guitar melodies. The pace changes in the song are good, and despite being over seven minutes in length it does not get boring. Around the 5th minute mark we have another fine interlude. 3.Sacrifice The Source Of Life: The song opens with an amazing piano solo, which goes for about one and a half minutes . The riifs are once again excellent and so are the guitar melodies. The pianos also create an excellent epic effect. The song is basically midpaced but doesn't get boring. At the seventh minute mark the pace increases several notches, though for a short time. The song ends as it started with the piano solo. Though the music may be highly melodic for gentlemen listening to regular black metal, but this EP is excellently crafted. The music is highly enjoyable and that is it's greatest strength. So this EP is not only recommended to fans of black metal music, but for all every other guy who listens heavy metal. ------------- Uz očajni ropac umirahu gresi, kupljeni životom: to mre vasiona. |

Oh, Mr Goatt, I have moved a little from BM Topic to Macabrum. Jesus Christ, this is just awesome. So strong, epic and melodic. And lyrics in your beautiful language, I can understand what you are talking about and feel your feelings if I am not going to far into your heart. Excuse me, please. Very deep and emotional words. That was really something. Definetly will buy your beautiful music. P.S. I have watched and listen (especially) to your promo video. Lirycs... Blackest regards and all the best. |

Thanks, Ms Erzsebet thank you on your kind words . We have a little technical problems, but soon we'll continue to work on our upcoming full-lenght album. Album will not be released or spreaded via internet, till we find a label to release it. Album will be homage to Jon Nödtveidt. About lyrics, same writing process is used on full-lenght like on EP's lyrics. Same themes and things for inspiration. And there's bonus one lyric will be written by G.D. ------------- Uz očajni ropac umirahu gresi, kupljeni životom: to mre vasiona. |

Band: MACABRUM Country: Bosnia and Herzegovina Title: Epoch Label: selfreleased Year: 2010 Style: Black Metal Review: This is one of the strangest releases I've listened to lately, Macabrum is a duo from Bosnia and Herzegovina formed last year and this is their first effort. In the presentation sheet they say they have the purpose to create atmospheric and depressive Black Metal, but if so they certainly failed with this release. the music is a combination of Black Metal (on vocals and pace) with Hard Rock riffs and leads and that's most probably from the equipment they use not adapted for Black Metal at all. The lyrics and vocals are pretty good, but the guitar tone is simply blocking this band on expressing what they want and state... Talking about abyss? When you look long into the abyss the abyss looks back at you (Nietzsche). Sound and look of Macabrum music will probably have some effect. It is going to be interesting. Don't be surprised. |

Maybe there's a little bit views from nihilistic side on upcoming album, but when you capture whole picture of the album, we really didn't find a way of inspiration in Nietzsche..

Great video and interesting atmospheric music. It is a pity the video is not longer. :) I have found this music a little bit different than I am used to previous MacabruM stuff. Beautiful instrumental parts with a different vocal style. Awesome! Deep philosophical lyrics in "your" language are telling the immortal truth. Congratulations from the bottom of my heart. You have daring and brains as well |

Hvala, Erszebet.

More good news There's one new and very good stuff about our upcoming album. It's about 100 diehard copies. That diehard version coming in double digipack format. On that version you'll get two CD's, first one is our album who comes on original CD, and second CD is a bonus disc, with two brand new songs specialy made for this diehard version of album and two instrumental songs taken from our single material "Grief" from this year. About this second bonus disc, I'll quote our label:"The second cd would be a so called pro-cdr. A cdr manufacture with professional machines with direct print on the disc and silver-coloured dataside (DYE), highest standards for that." More informations soon. ------------- Uz očajni ropac umirahu gresi, kupljeni životom: to mre vasiona. |
