TOVARNA ROG:

FEAR OF EXTINCTION

crust - (Češka)

TRIFOR60:

HC/punk (Železniki)

3FOR60

FEAR OF EXTINCTION - s/t 7"EP

(by MB / Maximum Rock´n´Roll no. 342)

This is Czech answer to ANTI CIMEX. Think Country of Sweden song structure with same gravelly screamed off killer vocals – just a bit off the music in some spots and the effect is great. There is no metal here, nor are there melodic interludes, guitar solos, no crazy drum fills, no bass noodling – just simple, ugly and driving tunes. This recording as a perfect fit for this music – the guitars have just the right amount of distortion, the bass is muddy yet clear and the drums sound driving and simple. The lyrics are simple and in English and the liner notes have a brief one-line description of the subject of each song. I could do without The Fight Club sample , but this is good. This shit totally blindsided me. Yes, the sound is familiar and tons of bands are doing this, but FOE do this really fucking well – They nail it. Damn good record. Can´t wait to hear more. (MB)
